My meal at Musashi was ok. I’ve eaten at a lot of different Teppanyaki places and this one falls towards the bottom of the pack. I had the filet and scallop combo which was good, the steak was cooked perfectly and the scallops were firm but not overdone.

I was surprised at how much butter was used in the rest of the meal. From the fried rice to the vegetables to the sprouts, it was used in everything. An not just a few slices here and there like most places I’ve been to, but huge, huge chunks. There were 2 different sauces served with your meal, one was very good and the other was no more than mayo and a dash of hot sauce.

Our cook was great, but the service was a little slow. If you’re close by and looking for something to do it might be worth a try, but there are surely better Teppanyaki options in Vegas such as Osaka’s or Hokkaido.

I only give it a one star because it wont let me put anything smaller than that. I have to say I’m a huge fan of Teppanyaki, the wife and I go all the time. But this place was a huge disappointment.

I’m not sure if it’s all the time, but the place smelled of rotten garbage. The smell is sickening, I will add to that, the smell will stay on your clothes for the entire evening as well.

I’m not sure why this place got so many high remarks. The soup was horrible. The salad was just OK nothing special. The food wasn’t that great at all. Our cook had asked us if we liked garlic, we made the mistake of saying yes. The cook drenched our food in a garlic sauce. The steak the shrimp even the rice was loaded with this horrible garlic sauce they made. For the love of god if you go and you can get past the smell, please say no to the garlic.

All in all it was a horrible experience. We had gone there with 8 others and none them enjoyed the food or the atmosphere. The website to Musashi is very deceiving. They show pictures of the place that simply don’t exist when you get to Musashi. It’s like there purposely attempting to mislead you.

I will also add that most Teppan places will give you a desert included with your meal. Everyone Ive been too will give a sherbet or some kind of sweet after the meal is over. NOT this one. They give you crap soup, salad and main dish and your out.

I highly recommend that you stay away from this one. Go and find a better place to blow about $100 for 2 people.

As my wonderful boyfriend said below (although I won’t be as nice as he was), this place basically sucked. I originally read the reviews for this place (which is why my boyfriend and I went there… sorry babe) and being that it was one of the highest rated sushi restaurants in Vegas on here, that’s what we decided on. Now it seems like a lot of people have rated it highly based on the teppenyaki side but as far as sushi goes, it was simply the worst sushi either of us has ever had. The mussels in which I’ve never had a truly bad experience with, were falling apart and mushy. I don’t know how to even describe the rolls! They were just weird and and the fish was sooooo NOT fresh! I’ve read peoples reviews saying how fresh it was and I dunno if they came on a good day or maybe they’ve just never had good sushi before but this stuff was just terrible! Also on the website it actually talks about their unique and modern interior decoration… HELLO!! There we holes in the seats of the booths and the lighting was a bright florescent light hanging right above your head literally blinding you! The place was just downright dull and dreary.
Look, I have never left a review for anywhere before because I’ve never felt the need to and I’ve had plenty of bad experiences in different restaurants before, but I absolutely LOVE sushi and this place was just horrible in every way. PLEASE don’t bother wasting your time in going there if sushi is what you want. I can’t say anything about the teppanyaki side but oh lord… bad sushi. Bad, bad, bad, bad, bad.

During our visit to Vegas a local friend of ours mentioned she had heard about this place on TV. So we tried this place out. We selected a table over the sushi bar and teppan table. Here is where it all started. It took a long time for our waitress to come. She took our drink orders and messed that up. Then it took a long time for her to come back to take our order. We ordered sushi, rolls, and a teriyaki chicken bowl. It took some time, but we got our sushi and rolls, but never the bowl. The sushi and rolls where good, but we have had better. We were done with what we had received and still NO chicken bowl. We ended up canceling the order. The waitress never offered an apology for none of the mistakes made. We will never visit this place again nor recommend it.

Made a reservation for two and asked for a booth the day before… At 8:00 we showed up and expected to have an open booth for us due to our reservation… Instead we were made wait until a table was available. The waiter did not apologize for the inconvenience and basically said “its up to you guys” and walked away, if we wanted to sit at a regular table… We decided to leave due to the horrible host service. Ive heard the food there is great, but I would rather spend my money at McDonalds and get better service.

Walked in and we asked to sit at the bar.
We pointed to a place that was dirty and asked and asked the waiter if it was ok and he said yea I’ll clean it up soon….. It wasn’t only until we got our disgusting looking appetizer that the waiter FINALLY asked us if we wanted a drink. Oh!!! And finally cleaned up the area. Will never visit this place again, not trying to be horribly vital, but come on now.

They totally blew the whole evening for us and our 6 guests from out of town. We’ve been to Mushasi many times and the service was always good and the food great. So we wanted to take friends there to enjoy it too. We called for reservations for a whole table – for 8 persons – you can only squeeze in 9 if someone sits across from the sink – YUCK! The earliest we could get was 9 PM for a whole table – but OK. We got there at 9 PM but no table was available. Waited 20 minutes at the bar and ordered two bottles of saki. Finally they had a table cleared and ready for us – or so we thought. In the ultimate of INSULTS and RUDENESS the hostess then takes two guys that came in after us, without reservations and seats them at the freshly cleared table! Then tells our party of eight – well here’s an extra chair you can cram 5 adults in space where four adults usually fit. You don’t mind rubbing elbows with each other do you? The other three of our party had to sit around the corner with one opposite the wash sink! You don’t mind sharing your reserved table with two BOZOS who just walked in do you? WELL, YES, I DO MIND – I MIND A LOT! What happened to our reservations for a table I ask. Well, you can take it or leave or wait an hour they say…. I asked for Tiger – not there. Asked for his number – no way! Asked they have him call me – no way. We sucked it up and had these two foreign language speaking BOZOS rudely barged in at our table. We only stayed because at 9:30 I couldn’t think of another restaurant close by that was open and my guests were hungry. To ADD FURTHER INSULT when the other side of this cooking area opened they set it for EIGHT PLACES! When I suggested they should just seat us there they said – only of you want to wait another hour for a cook!

If Tiger was there this would not have happened. He knows how to treat his good long time customers – like us – we knew him when he was at Hamada’s working as a chef. They had no management there who understood the least about PR and keeping customers happy. They didn’t even TRY to make us satisfied. They didn’t comp a meal or even a $24. bottle of saki. They didn’t give a damn if a ten year customer walked out never to return because of their abominable disrespect, rudeness and discourtesy.

I even hand wrote a note addressed to Tiger and asked Tiger’s brother in law to give it to Tiger. The note asked Tiger to call me. My cell phone has not rung. This says it all….

I seriously doubt my wife and I will ever return and will certainly never do so with friends – for the only thing we can expect is to be treated with great rudeness, discourtesy and a don’t give a damn if you stay or go attitude.

Tiger needs to clean house and get those extremely rude employees out of there. They will poison his business behind his back. Too bad. Musashi used to be one of our favorite restaurants.

Dinner on February 15, 2015. Disappointing. Marginal service, not friendly or enthused, esp. with whoever was greeting patrons. Wasn’t familiar with the beer selection. Sushi roll was soggy, even poorer taste. Pork katsu and tempura very greasy. Won’t be back.

The greeter at the door seemed to be on something – he was leading us to our table, then turned and went in the kitchen and didn’t come out, leaving us just standing there trying to figure out where to go. The cook had to yell to him to come out and take us to a table, really strange. The food was so-so, and you’re at one of those big metal tables where the chefs do the chopping in front of you, so there’s not much privacy for conversation, and the chopping and jokes the chef makes entertained the kids at the table but I just thought it was annoying.
